Quinn Latimer

Quinn Latimer is a writer, editor, and occasional curator. She is Head of the MA at the Institute Art Gender Nature HGK Basel FHNW, where she also co-curates the long-running symposia series on issues of artistic practice and society. She is the author of Like a Woman: Essays, Readings, Poems (2017), Sarah Lucas: Describe This Distance (2013), Film as a Form of Writing: Quinn Latimer Talks to Akram Zaatari (2013), and Rumored Animals(2012), among other books. Her latest curatorial projects include SIREN (some poetics) at Amant, New York, and Perpetual Language: Patricia L. Boyd and Na Mira, made under the signs and spirits of Roland Barthes and Teresa Hak Kyung Cha, at Croy Nielsen, Vienna. Previously editor-in-chief of publications for documenta 14 in Athens and Kassel, she is now coeditor of the book series Basel Dialogues from the Basel Academy of Art and Design. Its second volume, Desire for Transmission, was published in 2026. Her recent research examines the relationship between literary and moving-image technologies amid political desire and the social. She is currently finishing a novel that considers the imbrications of image production and surveillance, autobiography and political violence.
